- Description
- This synopsis is announcing the General Services Administration Federal Technolgy Service (GSA/FTS), Great Lakes Region?s request for sources sought. This GSA/FTS Great Lakes Region is seeking companies that possess the following IT Knowledge/Expertise and Background: company representative(s) hold(s) a BS in computer science or in other information management fields, to include extensive Oracle data base experience. Ten years of data base administration (DBA) with at least five years of Oracle data base administration experience on an IBM mainframe utilizing an OS 390 operating system. Experience with SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle 8.i, and distributed Oracle databases. Experience in analysis, problem determination, physical design of Oracle databases, and training/mentoring of data base administrators are all desired skills. MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Five years DBA experience with Oracle OS/390 8i OSDi; Two plus years systems programming experience with Oracle OS/390 installations; Five years DBA experience with Oracle AIX 8i; Five plus years DBA experience with Oracle in an applications development environment; Ability to tune PL/SQL programs and some coding; Ability to code Unix shell scripts; Capacity-planning experience for forecasting future hardware acquisitions; Ability to assist Systems Programmer with the installation, maintenance, and tuning of Oracle OS/390 8i OSDi and 9iR2; Ability to assist Oracle OS/390 DBA?s with new features in Oracle 8i and 9i; Ability to work with programs to use Explain, TracePlus, and Estat/Bstat/Tkprof to resolve poor performing SQL in triggers, functions, packages, stored procedures, materialized views, and PL/SQL; Ability to resolve data anomalies in legacy data on mainframe with Oracle data dispersed across 65 RS/6000 AIX instances nationwide; Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
