- Description
- The Maintenance and Logistics Command Pacific, Naval Engineering Division intends to contract for various repairs and overhauls of USCGC HEALY (WAGB-20). This work is to be accomplished dockside at the ISC Pier 37, Seattle, WA. There will be no ship check available. The definite work items include but are not limited to: Boiler Feedwater Piping Inspection and Valve Replacement, Starboard Intake Vent Alteration, Steam Valve Renewal and Piping Inspection and Repair and Steam Pressure Regulating Valve Overhaul and Test, Fuel oil Valve Overhaul, Ventilation Duct Cleaning (Galley, Scullery, Laundry), various Crane repairs, Warping capstan repair, Working Deck Tie Down Threaded Insert Install, Relocate Science Hatch HPU Controller, and various miscellaneous voyage repairs to be determined. Period of performance will commence 15 April 2003 and concludes 16 May 2003. The contractors will be limited to day shift hours, Monday through Friday for the duration of the availability. Concurrently during the performance period for this availability various other repairs and system grooms will be conducted by other contractors including a MDE overhaul and an IPP Groom. This solicitation will be issued pursuant to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. Solicitation will be issued on or about February 5, 2003 with a proposal closing date of March 7, 2003. This will be an unrestricted invitation for bid procurement. For Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises to acquire short-term working capital assistance for transportation-related contracts, loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at the prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000. For further information concerning the STLP call the OSDBU at 1-800-532-1169.
