Description
The U.S. Department of Commerce, NOAA, intends to solicit for the removal of at least six Radomes located in California and Florida. The National Weather Service (NWS) has accepted an offer of 6 surplus radomes from the National Aeronautical Space Administration (NASA). These radomes must be removed immediately or NASA will have to destroy them to make room for a new project. The radomes will be shipped to the National Weather Service located in Kansas City, MO, for reconditioning and later deployed to new Radiosonde Replacement System (RRS) sites. The contractor shall furnish all labor, machinery, and local transportation to and from each radome location. Each radome will be disassembled and prepared for shipment by truck to the NWS located in Kansas City, MO. The radomes shall be removed from the Vandenburg AFB, CA, Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, FL, and Key West, FL airport, with the option to add to or the removal of site locations from the list. Each radome shall be crated for shipment and each crate will then be addressed and stored for later shipment at a designated Point of Origin. The storage area will be identified by the point of contact for each site. The contractor will not be responsible for shipping these crates. Any company with expertise and capability to remove radomes from buildings and prepare them for shipment is encouraged to respond to this announcement. Interested firms should submit references for similar work that has been completed on government property. Also include the firm's email address and a brief statement regarding its capability to meet this requirement within 15 calendar days after this publication. In order to receive the complete solicitation package, interested firms may send an email request to karen.l.christian@noaa.gov or send a fax request to telephone number 816-426-7530, ATTN: Karen Christian. The government reserves the right to solicit bids based on receipt of affirmative responses to this notice. The anticipated award date shall be within 20 calendar days after date of this announcement. The NAICS code for this action is 335999. This requirement is considered a small business set-aside. All responsible sources may submit a bid which will be considered by the Agency.
