Description
The U.S. Army Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command, Armament Research, Development and Engineering Center (TACOM-ARDEC) Picatinny Arsenal, NJ has a requirement to obtain proposals in support of a 12-month program directed towards standardization for Army use of a Non-Developmental Item (NDI) 40 mm Dud-reducing M430A1E1 HEDP Cartridge that shall be fired from the MK-19 Mod 3 Grenade Machine Gun (GMG). The evaluation process for award shall be conducted in several stages. The first stage will be the respondents submitting technical proposals in response to the Request For Proposal (RFP). The Government will evaluate the technical merits of the proposals and determine technically acceptable respondents. Stage two of the evaluation process will be the invitation of these respondents to submit 75 Bid Sample Test (BST) units, IAW Section L of the Solicitation, at their own expense, for test and evaluation by the Government. The respondents will be allowed approximately two and one-half months to produce and ship the BST units to the Government testing center. The successful respondent shall be awarded the contract IAW the criteria of Section M of the RFP, and shall fabricate 5536 each Dud- reducing M430A1E1 HEDP Cartridges IAW the contract SOW. After successful contractor validation testing of a quantity of 416 units, the remaining 5120 each Dud-reducing M4301A1 HEDP Cartridges shall be packed and shipped to the Aberdeen Test Center (ATC) for qualification testing by the Government. The competitive RFP will be available approximately January 31, 2003.
