Description: The Bureau of the Census intends to negotiate a single source contract with Storage Technology Corporation, 12200 Tech Rd., Silver Spring, MD for continued 24x7 maintenance support services on the following Storagetek equipment: 4 ea. CDC 9- Track Tape Controller and Drive Model 4700A70; 12 ea. CDC 9-Track Tape Drive (200IPS) Model 4770B70; 4 ea. 2x8 Switching Feature #1792; and 4 ea. 2 Channel Switch #8100. Period of performance is October 1, 2002 through June 30, 2003. Since Storage Technology has maintained this is age-old equipment for several years, it would not be cost effective to have another vendor take over the maintenance. The intent of this synopsis is for informational purposes only, and is not a request for competitive bids; no solicitation will be issued.
