- The Social Security Administration (SSA) is seeking sources capable of providing the Agency with a Scanning software package. The scanning software will be integrated as part of the Agency?s new Enterprise Document Imaging and Management Architecture (EDIMA). The scanning software will provide a highly utilized, vital path to import documents into EDIMA. The Agency is seeking sources that produce Scanning software packages that must meet the following requirements: General Software Requiremens: - Windows NT/2000 compatible - Supports client/server architecture - Contains APIs for JAVA, C, or Visual Basic for interfacing or customization - Has ability to interface with external Databases using ODBC - Supports concurrent scanning, validating and editing documents - Supports multiple scanning, validation, and editing stations. Has the following editing capabilities: Visual reordering of pages, Deleting pages, Validating index field on-line, Displaying index field data without allowing the user to edit field. Has the ability to process a high volume of up to 1.1 million documents a day. Document Capture: Utilizes ISIS and TWAIN protocols - Has the ability select include/exclude images of barcode sheets in the document - Supports a manual scanning mode - Supports unattended batch scanning - Provides a mechanism for reporting pages and document counts by batch - Automatically scans 2-sided documents - Scans document sizes ranging from 3 X 5? to 11 X 17? - Supports ISIS or SCSI compatible Scanning devices - Can read XML Files and import their corresponding images and key fields - Supports some form of statistical quality control. Document Cleanup: Has the ability to clean up an image - Corrects skew up 6 degrees - Barcode/Validation - Can read 3 of 9 Barcodes, specifically LOGMARS - Can read 2-Dimensional (2D) bar codes, specifically PDF417 - Supports automatic document indexing from barcode data - Supports programmatic validation of barcode data. Has customizable indexing functionality that supports Database lookup, drop-down lists, etc. Document Export: Preferably, has the ability to interface with IBM Content Manager V8.1 and use APIs in order to release images into Content Manager - Can export XML documents and images that can be used by other systems to programmatically import images - Produces Multi page TIFF Group 4 (G4) documents. These sources must be providers of solution integration or product development. Interested vendors must be able to provide verifiable proof by submitting information in sufficient detail to demonstrate their ability to meet the Agency?s requirement. Vendors responding should indicate whether their services are available on the GSA schedule. Pricing data may be submitted. This is not a request for proposal and the Government does not intend to pay for information submitted. Respondents will not be notified of the results of the evaluation of the data received. No contract award will be made on the basis of responses received; however, this information will be used in SSA?s assessment of capable sources. Responses to this notice should be submitted in duplicate with 15 days of this publication and should refer to ?AeDIB EDIMA Scanning?. Requests for copies of a solicitation will not be honored or acknowledged.
