Description
The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute intend to negotiate on a noncompetitive basis with SpectruMedix, 2124 Old Gatesburg Road, State College, PA., 16803, to purchase an Upgrade of SCE9610 (96 capillary) Genetic Analysis System to the SCE-96192 (192 capillary) Genetic Analysis System, Part #70006. One (1) year warranty from the date of installation is included with the purchase. The Upgraded instrument is designed for high speed and high throughout DNA sequencing and the acquisition, analysis, and management of complex genetic information. Direct access to this high capacity sequencing equipment in the investigator?s laboratory twenty-four (24) hours a day will be essential for accomplishing various project goals. This equipment will be used by the principal investigator for determining gene expression in various cardiovascular diseases and genetic polymorphisms involving large numbers of samples and patients. The North American Industry Classification (NAICS) Code is 334516 and the Size Standard is 500 employees for this requirement. This requirement is a small business set-aside. This acquisition is being conducted under simplified acquisition procedures, and exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this requirement. When submitting your response please include the following, business size, itemized price, including shipping cost if applicable, prompt payment terms, the F.O.B. Point (Destination or Origin), Taxpayer Identification Number (TNN), and Dun & Bradstreet Number (DUNs). The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct future competitive procurement. Responses to this announcement, referencing synopsis number NHLBI-PS-2003-029 must be submitted in writing to National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, Contracts Operations Branch, Procurement Section, 6701 Rockledge Drive, Suite 6042, Bethesda, MD 20892-7902, Attention: Deborah Coulter. Fax quotations will only be accepted if dated and signed by an authorized company representative. All responsible sources may submit a proposal, which if timely received, shall be considered by the agency.
