Description

NA The US Army Research Laboratory (ARL) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Leica Microsystems, Inc., Semiconductor Equipment Division, 14280 Park Meadow Drive, Ste. 100, Chantilly, VA 20151 for the service and maintenance of a Leica EBPG-5HR e lectron beam lithography system for a one year service contract with options to extend up to an additional four (4) years iaw the statement of work to be published in the solicitation. The base period will be January 13, 2003 through January 12, 2004. Le ica Microsystems, Inc. is the original manufacturer of the E-beam lithography system to be covered by this contract, has previously installed a custom upgrade, and has been the only provider of support. This procurement is being conducted under the Simpl ified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The solicitation will be posted to the Army Single Face to Industry (ASFI) website at http://www.fedbizopps.gov. Interes ted persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit a proposal. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received before the solicitation closing day will be cons idered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpo se of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. No telephone requests will be honored.
