Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items = prepared in accordance with the format in FAR 12.6, as supplemented with = additional information included in this notice. This announcement = constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a = written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation, RMK0E030008, = is issued as a Request for Quote (RFQ) under test procedures of FAR = 13.5. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses = are those in effect through Federal Acquisition 97-26. The North = American Industry classification (NAICS) code is 235110 and the business = size maximum is $12.0 million. The government intends to award a = requirements contract for this requirement. The solicitation is for one = base year period and four one-year option periods. The proposed contract = is set-aside for very small businesses in accordance with FAR 19.9. To = be considered responsive contractors must provide a price for the base = period and Option Periods one (1) through four (4). Contractor shall = provide a summary sheet detailing how the unit price was arrived at. = Estimated Quantities - The quantities shown in the schedule have been = estimated to establish a basis of evaluating proposals for the purpose = of award and are not intended to reflect exact quantities. Since exact = quantities cannot be ascertained in advance, the quantities in the = schedule may be increased or decreased according to actual need. Total Price for Base = Period and Option Periods 1 -4 $____________. = -------------------------------------------------------------------------= ----------------------- DESCRIPTION OF REQUIREMENTS: The Contractor = shall provide all the necessary services, qualified personnel, supplies, = materials and all costs associated to conduct safety inspections on high = and low pressure steam and hot water boilers and unfired pressure = vessels. The boilers operate at high & low-pressure steam and high & = low temperature hot water. Boilers are operated and maintained by the = Bureau of Indian Affairs, Office of Indian Education Programs at = approximately eighty (80) school locations throughout the State of New = Mexico and Arizona. The contractor is not responsible for any repairs = or corrections that need to be performed in order for a boiler or = pressure vessel to pass inspection. All repairs/corrective actions will = be the responsibility of the local school maintenance personnel. The = contractor inspector must meet the requirements of an authorized = inspector as defined by the National Board Inspection Code (NBCI) and = hold a valid commission issued by the National Board of Boiler and = pressure Vessel Inspectors (NBBI). SCOPE: The contractor shall provide = services to conduct a Type C external inspection for safe operation and = visual check of controls systems, and conduct and develop an inventory = data-base of all boilers and pressure vessels for each school location. = ----------- A. TYPE C: An external inspection, under steam or hot = water (Whichever is applicable), tested under normal operating = conditions. This is a mandatory annual inspection. The Contractor shall = perform boiler and pressure vessel inspection in accordance with the = most current National Boiler Inspection Code (NBIC) 2001 Addition, 2001 = addendum, Part RB1000 through 4000. Request for Quotes are due on = January 15, 2003, 3:00 pm local time. Please include your TAX ID = Number and DUNS Number when submitting your quote.
