Description
NA This is Sealed Bid (IFB), full & open competition. The overall project is divided into two (2) construction phases. Phase 1 was constructed earlier in 2002. This solicitation and the work requirements described herein are for construction Phase 2 only. Phase 2 general work description follows: Stabilize approximately 1,300 linear feet of the left bank of the Kansas River for the protection of the Kansas River bridge along FAS route 209 (Leavenworth County Road 1). Construct stone-fill dike and revetme nt stabilization features using approximately 22,500 tons of stone. Associated work includes some limited clearing, the construction of roughly 1,500 linear ft. of access route, and the grading, excavation and fill needed to prepare river banks for stone placement. Tree planting and revegetation work is also anticipated. Much of the work will be accomplished in the Kansas River channel during expected winter low-water period. Successful Phase 2 construction will require the capability to rapidly place ( avg. 4,500 tons/week) the stonefill using bankside staging and operations that will extend into the river channel as dike and revetment features are built out. Barge placement is not practical for most work due to typically shallow river levels. The NAIC S Code is 23499, the SIC Code is 1629. The Solicitation package shall be available on or about December 20, 2002. Questions of a technical nature may be addressed to Mr. Grady L.
