Description

The solicitation will be available at http://ideasec.nbc.gov website on or about December 11, 2002. TELEPHONE REQUESTS OR FAX REQUESTS FOR THIS SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. Contractors must register on the website in order to retrieve copies of the solicitation and any possible amendments. Instructions are contained on the website for downloading solicitations and attachments. It is the responsibility of all interested contractors to acknowledge ALL amendments to the solicitation. The work of this project consists of the following construction at the "Old Orchard" building, currently used as a visitor center, museum, and administrative offices. 1) Basement and crawl space: installation of new mechanical and electrical equipment. 2) First floor: installation of new floor framing, subfloor and finish floor at stair opening. Creation of framed hatchways throughout the first floor to access mechanical equipment in crawl space. 3) Installation of new internal environmental control systems for the museum and administrative offices, including HVAC equipment and distribution, controls, filtration, lighting fixtures, electrical equipment, devices and distribution. Work includes buried utilities and related trenching and backfilling, modification of existing building systems as indicated or required, and related cutting and patching. Option: Installation of ductless air conditioning system. 4) Repair and/or replace all adjacent finishes damaged as a result of selective demolition and new construction work. This solicitation will be issued pursuant to P.L. 100-656, Small Business Competitive Demonstration Program, and as such is open it all concerns regardless of size.
