Description

Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity Asphalt Paving at Lajes Field, Azores, Portugal. The project shall include but is not limited to demolition of existing pavement, base and subgrade, grading to required elevations, placement and compaction of subgrade and base materials, and installation of new asphalt pavement, curb, and gutters. The performance period for this project is one basic year and four option years. The guaranteed minimum is $10,000 for the base and for each option year. The magnitude of this project is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000 dollars. Sealed bid procedures will be utilized for this procurement and bids shall be solicited on a firm-fixed price basis. An award shall be made without discussions to the lowest responsive/responsible bidder. North American Industry Classification System assigned to this acquisition is 237310. This requirement is RESTRICTED to Mainland Portugal and its territories in accordance with the Bilateral Agreement between Portugal and the United States dated 1995. The Invitation for Bid (IFB) package shall be available for downloading and viewing at Electronic Posting System (EPS) at http://www.eps.gov on or about 16 Dec 02. There shall be no hard copies of this solicitation issued. The solicitation, plans, specifications, and/or drawings shall not be provided in a printed paper format; however, the Government reserves the right to revert to paper medium when it is determined to be in the Government's best interest. All bids and other normal documents required for the bid submittal, including amendments to the bid submittal, shall be in paper medium. All contractors interested in receiving notification of updates/amendments to the solicitation posted on the EPS are urged to enroll on the web site mailing list for this acquisition. Those contractors enrolled shall be notified automatically of any changes made to the IFB through their e-mail addresses. No telephone requests will be accepted.
