NOUN: Divergent Nozzle Segment; NSN: 2840-01-308-4465NZ; P/N: 4071142; QTY: 253 or 506 or 759; U/I: Each; DELIVERY: JUL2003 Tinker AFB, OK; APPLICABLE TO: F100PW229; SIZE/DIMENSIONS: 21 inches X 4.75 inches; PREDOMINANT MATERIAL: Nickel base alloy; FORM/FIT/FUNCTION: This item is a component part of the augmentor nozzle assembly. The divergent segment works in unison with the convergent nozzle segment to control the nozzle throat size and exit area. Anticipated Solicitation issue date: 9DEC02. It is not anticipated that a paper solicitation will be issued. Anticipated award date: 9JAN03. No telephone solicitation requests will be accepted. To be eligible for contract award, offerors must be approved sources. Qualification requirements exist and have been synopsized. The requirements of FAR 9.202(a) have been completed and copies of the qualification requirements and standards may be obtained as described in the solicitation. The Government is not required to delay contract award to review pending Source Approval Requests (SARs). Therefore, offerors are encouraged to submit SARs as soon as possible. If the Government has not completed review of the SAR when the contract is awarded, the SAR will be retained and the source will be reviewed for possible Source Approval for future awards. NOTE: An ombudsman has been appointed to hear concerns from offerors or potential offerors during the proposal development phase of this acquisition. The purpose of the ombudsman is not to diminish the authority of the Program Manager or contracting officer, but to communicate contractor concerns, issues, disagreements, and recommendations to the appropriate Government personnel. When requested, the ombudsman will maintain strict Confidentiality as to source of the concern. The Ombudsman does not participate In the evaluation of proposals or in the source selection process.
