- Defense Logistics Agency, Defense Energy Support Center, 2261 Hughes Ave, Ste 128, Lackland AFB, TX 78236-9828 Description DESC: The Defense Energy Support Center (DESC) plans an ?Industry Forum? relative to future acquisition of hydrazines (all grades) and ancillary services, on Wednesday, 11 December 2002 in San Antonio, Texas. The purpose of this forum is to invite industry participation and input as DESC prepares its acquisition strategy for hydrazine products and ancillary services to support the US Air Force, National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and Commercial Space Launch Activities through 2020. DESC anticipates a solicitation being issued within 2 months after the Industry Forum. Specifically, the Government is seeking input from industry on the potential for a pilot plant with pre-production samples approved by the Government, the amount of time needed to construct a new hydrazine facility and/or retrofit of an existing facility, the number and amount of time to obtain environmental permits, as well as input from industry on other major issues relative to the development of the acquisition strategy for this major procurement, to be announced at the Industry Forum. Interested participants should provide a list of attendees to the DESC Contracting Officer on or before 6 December 2002. Participants may also meet with the Government after the Industry Forum on a one-on-one basis, for a period of one to two hours, if desired. Those desiring a one-on-one meeting after the Industry Forum should so indicate when providing their list of attendees. The Industry Forum will be conducted from 9:00 AM to 12 Noon, Central Standard Time, the morning of 11 December 2002 and the one-on-one meetings will be held in the afternoon and/or the day after, depending on how many potential offerors attend/participate. Discussions during these special one-on-one meetings will be limited to industry input only relative to topics discussed in the Industry Forum. No discussions beyond the Government obtaining additional input from industry on the specific topics addressed in the Industry Forum will be allowed. Lastly, industry will be encouraged to submit written input and/or recommendations after the Industry Forum, as well.
