- Description
- The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Improvision Inc., 1 Cranberry Hill, Lexington, MA., 02421, to purchase the Volocity Software License. The software license package shall include; (1) Product #1338, Volocity System, (2) Product #1339, Volocity 40 Restoration, and (3) Product #1341, additional Volocity License. The NHLBI Light Microscopy Imaging Facility provides research tools and support to the NHLBI investigators, and conduct research in 4D measurements. This software package handles the diverse set of needs of the NHLBI investigators who use the Light Microscopy Core microscopes regarding 4D (volume rendering if images taken over time), 4D restoration (deconvolution). The Government intends to award within fifteen (15) days from the publication date of this synopsis or December 3, 2002, which ever is later. The acquisition is being conducted under simplified acquisition procedures and is exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) is 421430 and Standard Size is 100 employee. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this requirement. The determination by the Government not to complete the proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct future competitive procurement.
