Description

NA The U.S. Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity proposes to negotiate with Caribbean Primate Labs of the Behavioral Sciences Foundation, Basseterr, St Kitts Eastern Caribbean on a sole source basis for the purchase of African Green non-human primates, Chlorocebus aethiops. The period of performance is anticipated to be a base period of two years with three one-year options. This award will be an Indefinite Delivery - Indefinite Quantity, Firm Fixed Price type contract with an estimated minimum require ment of 5 and maximum of 100 for each delivery order. The non-human primates will be used for approved medical research programs for the U.S. Army Medical Research and Material Command and other Department of Defense agencies. The Government reserves the right to include requirements for other federal, state or local governments. This procurement shall be under other than full and open competition procedures in accordance with FAR 6.302-1b(1)(i), unique supplies or services available from only one source or only one supplier with unique capabilities. At this time the Caribbean Primate Labs is the only identified source that can meet anticipated delivery requirements of 90 days after receipt of order and maintain quality in country quarantine/conditioning periods to ensure the health of the monkeys.
