Description

NA The US Army Corps of Engineers, Portland District, intends to award a supply with installation type contract to perform modifications to John Day Dam?s emergency gantry crane. The John Day project is located approximately 113 miles East of Portland, Orego n, on the Columbia River. The contract consists of rehabilitating components of the existing 348-ton rail mounted gantry crane with 3 main hoists. The contract work includes: fabrication and/or rehabilitation of 3 lifting beams, including removal of lead paint, replacement of various sheaves, bearings and wire ropes, the cleaning, painting, inspection, and repair of hoist and trolley machinery, rehabilitation of 4 gantry drive trucks, including replacement of existing dc gear motors with flux vector gearmo tors and brakes, fabrication of a complete spare gantry drive truck including wheels, bearings, gearmotor and brake, removal of the existing air and hydraulic brake lines, installation of load indicators on the 3 main hoists, and performing a post rehab in spection and load test. The on-site portion of the work shall start no earlier that 01 May 2003 and must be completed no later than 30 September 2003.
