- Description
- The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport intends to issue a competitive solicitation for the SSN 688 Class Submarine Imaging System (SUBIS). This system is an electro-optical upgrade for the Type 18B Periscope Set. This upgrade replaces obsolete imaging components with state of the art sensors. As part of this upgrade, SUBIS integrates both a color and low light level video camera and a digital still camera (DSC) into the Type 18 Periscope's Eyepiece Box. The Government intends to purchase eight systems the first year with three Option years of approximately fifteen each. Evaluation Criteria: Best Value (Technical Approach and Past Performance).
