Description
The Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts intends to enter into a sole source contract with Sun Microsystems for technical support for its proprietary Solaris operating system software. This requirement for technical support for Solaris operating system software includes all versions, specifically including version 2.5.1, of the Solaris operating system used by the Federal Judiciary. There are over 1000 Intel-based systems, with mission-critical applications, distributed throughout the United States running either Solaris version 2.5.1 or Solaris version 7. These systems include a mix of Compaq Proliant models. Systems running Solaris version 2.5.1 support a legacy application, the Integrated Case Management System (ICMS), that is no longer being deployed. ICMS systems will continue to be supported until they are replaced. This support will include, but not be limited to: technical advice and assistance, the resolution of problems with the Solaris operating systems, and error corrections, including the provision of patches and patch clusters. This notice is not a request for proposal or quotation. No solicitation is available. However, interested parties may express their interest and capability to satisfy the Government's requirements by emailing Kevin Sullivan at kevin_sullivan@ao.uscourts.gov or by fax to (202) 502-1066 not later than fifteen calendar days after the publication of this notice. Any information received will be considered in a determination of the feasibility of conducting a competitive procurement.
