Description

NA DESC: Chemical Agent Monitor (CAM), NSN: 6665-01-199-4153. The services to procure are for the rework/refurbisment of CAMs. This solicitation is restricted to General Dynamics Armament and Technical Products, Deland, FL and Smiths Detection Edgewood, MD. B oth these companies are the only known sources who have the necessary tools and test equipment along with the required Nuclear Regulatory License (NRC)needed for this effort. An NRC license is required because the CAM contains radioactive material. This is published for subcontracting purposes only. The aforementioned contractors are large businesses. This proposal will result in a firm fixed price basic contract with three 1 year options. First Article Testing is required. The maximum estimated quantity of CAMs to be repaired/refurbished is 11,700. FOB is destination. This solicitation will be issued electronically in accordance with FAR 4.501, 5.102(a)(7) and 14.205-1(c) therefore hardcopies will not be provided. Vendors wishing an electronic copy may dow nload it on or after the issue date by accessing the following address via the internet: http://aais.ria.army.mil/aais/SOLINFO/index.htm. CAUTION: This solicitation will be issued electronically as will any amendments thereto. Because of this, the Govern ment is under no obligation and is in fact unable to maintain a bidders mailing list. It is therefore incumbent upon any interested parties to periodically access the above internet address in order to obtain any amendments which may be issued. Failure t o obtain any said amendments and to respond to them prior to the date and time set for bid opening/receipt of proposals may render your bid or proposal nonresponsive and result in the rejection of same.
