STATEMENT OF WORK PART A: BACTERIAL RESPIRATORY PATHOGENS RESEARCH UNIT (BRPRU), Page 5, Paragraph I, is modified in part, to read as follows: Bacterial Respiratory Pathogens of interest include, but are not limited to: Streptococcus pneumoniae, Bordetella pertusis, Haemophilus influenzae (which includes Haemophilus type B and nontypeable Haemophilus strains), neisseria meningtidis, group A streptococcus (GAS), group B streptococcus (GBS), Chlamydia pneumoniae, Mycoplasma pneumoniae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and, Burkholderia cepacia. NOTES TO OFFERORS, DMID-03-05, RESPIRATORY PATHOGENS RESEARCH UNITS (RPRU), page 11, Note #2, is modified in part, to read as follows: The Offerors response must include a maximum total of five (5) Concept Papers that develop independent and separate technical preclinical research activities based on those listed under Part A, Statement of Work, Item II (a-c). One Concept Paper must focus on Steptococcus pneuniae, one Concept Paper must focus on Haemophilus influenzae, and one Concept Paper must focus on Group A streptococcus (GAS). The remaining two Concept Papers can focus on any of the 10 bacterial pathogens listed under Part A, Section I. However, the Offeror should not submit more than 2 Concept Papers for any one bacterial pathogen. SECTION L INSTRUCTIONS, CONDITIONS, AND NOTICES TO OFFERORS, Page 31, Paragraph e., ESTIMATE OF EFFORT, is hereby modified in Part A and Part B as follows: It is expected that three (3) completion type contracts will be awarded as a result of this RFP. To assist you in the preparation of your proposal, the Government considers the effort to be approximately as follows: PART A Contract: 32,936 labor hours per year (15.83 FTEs/year) PART B Contract: 26,849 labor hours per year (12.90 FTEs/year) This information is furnished for the offeror?s information only and is not to be considered restrictive for proposal purposes. Except as provided herein, all terms and conditions of this RFP remain unchanged and in full force and effect. The hour and date specified for receipt of offers REMAINS: November 18, 2002, 4:00 PM, EST. Offerors must acknowledge receipt of this Amendment #2, on each copy of the proposal submitted. Failure to receive your acknowledgement of this amendment may result in the rejection of your offer.
