Description
The Naval Air Systems Command Air Combat Electronics Program Office (PMA209) is requesting industry information on general purpose processors for Naval and Marine Corps aircraft. This is a Request for Information (RFI) only. It is not a request for Proposal or an indication that the Navy will contract for these supplies. The Navy is requesting information regarding general purpose processors (Navy terms- Common Cockpit Processors (CCPs)), to achieve Communication, Navigation, Surveillance/Air Traffic Management (CNS/ATM) functionality on legacy Navy and Marine Corps aircraft such as the C-2A, CH-53E, E-2C, P-3, , VH-3D, and VH-60N. This RFI requests technical information on the capabilities of Non-Developmental Item (NDI) cockpit processors within industry and on future developmental efforts. Information is also requested on display capabilities and hardware associated with such NDI cockpit processors. The information obtained will be used to identify potential CCP sources for use in the aircraft specified above. Current Navy planning calls for cockpit processors to be available for procurement in FY05 to FY09 and beyond with installation beginning in FY06. The CCP is expected to provide updated processing capabilities for the Navy?s aging aircraft by providing potential compatibility with civil aviation data links, tactical data links, analog cockpit functions, and precision approach algorithms. Interested parties should provide budgetary pricing and product information for this RFI no later than 15 November 2002 at the NAVAL AIR SYSTEMS COMMAND INDUSTRY DAY. The Navy will not pay for information received nor travel costs incurred in response to this RFI. All information received in response to this announcement will be kept confidential. Address responses to: Naval Air Systems Command, 47123 Buse Road, Unit IPT, Suite , Attn: Stacy Bostjanick, Air-2.4.2.4.3, Patuxent River, MD 20670-1547. For any further information relating to this RFI, please contact Ms. Stacy Bostjanick via e-mail at bostjanickss@navair.navy.mil
