Description
The Southern Arizona VA Health Care System, 3601 S. 6th Ave., Tucson, AZ 85723, intends to negotiate sole source with McKesson APS, dba Baker APS, 4333 Shreveport Highway, Pineville, LA 71368 for the commercial item acquisition of six (6) each AcuDose-RX 2-drawer main (nonprofiling) medication cabinets. The procurement shall include monthly hardware and software maintenance for the cabinets and all required implementation and user training. Cabinet specifications include two (2) drawers, a color, touch-screen monitor, a full-size keyboard, an uninterruptible power supply, a scanner port to accommodate a bar-code scanner, thirty-six (36) maximum line item capacity, and heat dissipation of 1700 BTU per hour. Additional options include 9-pocket locked lidded drawer (1 each) and a 6-pocket locked lidded drawer (1 each). External cabinet dimensions are 16.5" height to base of monitor, 30.5" height to tip of monitor, 24.5" width (drawer module), 8.0" width (control module), 23" depth, and 200 lbs weight. Cabinets shall be compatible with existing Connect-RX interface platform, Robot-RX, and the pharmacy VISTA system. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received on or before 9/26/02 will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
