Description
The Billings Area Indian Health Service (IHS) is requesting proposals in accordance with the requirements of Request for Quotation (RFQ)-10-02-041 to acquire the services of two Medical Records Clerks for the Pryor Health Clinic on the Crow Indian Reservation, Pryor, Montana. This procurement is being conducted under Simplified Acquisition procedures pursuant to the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) subpart 13.5 Test Programs for Certain Commercial Items (10 U.S.C. 2304(g) and 2305 and 41 U.S.C. 253(g) and 253a and 253b), FAR Part 12 Commercial Items (Title VIII of the Federal Acquisition Streamlining Act of 1994 (Public Law 103-355)), and FAR 37.1, Personal Services Contracts. The duties include, but are not limited to: retrieving charts and preparing them as requested for the clinic provider; filing labs and consultations; maintaining appointment register for outpatient clinics; scheduling appointments; notifying patients and rescheduling appointments. Scheduling patient appointments at other facilities according to the providers request. Retrieving and delivering patient medical files to the pharmacy. Reviewing appointment charts prior to returning them to medical records each day for completeness. Assisting patients coming in for clinic appointments, walk-in clinics, and triage. Answering all incoming telephone calls, providing assistance, taking messages, or transferring calls to appropriate staff member. Interviewing new and current patients to obtain social and demographic data for medical record. Prepare PCC forms and print updated health summaries. Review charts and file all correspondence, records and reports. Collect, review, and assemble PCCs to the Program Analysis and Statistical Branch of the Billings Area Office. The contractor shall be subject to a character investigation as required by Public Law 101-630, Indian Family Violence Prevention Act and Public Law 101-647, Crime Control Act. The IHS intends to award multiple contracts resulting from this solicitation. The contracts will be awarded for a 12-month period with three 12-month options. Requests for the solicitation should be submitted by September 23, 2002. The tentative issue date of the solicitation is September 24, 2002, with a response date of October 8, 2002. This acquisition is restricted to 51% Indian-owned businesses pursuant to the Buy Indian Act (25 U.S.C. 47).
