Description

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Office of Orphan Products Development, (OPD) and the NIH Office of Rare Disease is holding a conference entitled ?Therapies for Rare Disease: From Bench to Marketplace?. This conference is to be held on September 23-24, 2002 at the Embassy Suites, Chevy Chase Pavillion, Mazza Gallery. This requirement will be awarded on a sole source basis to The Henry M. Jackson Foundation (HJF) for the Advancement of Military Medicine. This company will be used to develop a website; handle online registration; marketing; on-site coordination; brochures, hand-out materials; conference evaluation etc. Funds will also cover expenses including meeting room, break-out rooms, audio-visual equipment, audio-visual technical support, etc. This requirement is being done sole sourced because the HJF advances medical research and education by providing scientific and management services to improve health worldwide. The HJF establishes and administers funds for educational projects and research activities by entering into agreements with individuals, public or private organizations, professional societies, and governmental agencies. They have extensive experience in the sponsorship of programs like the one being requested and work extensively with the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in the area of educational program development. Therefore, it is consider that the HJF is uniquely qualified to handle the responsibilities mentioned above for this conference. Therefore, no solicitation will result from this announcement.
