Solicitation NOI12101 is not a valid number. The correct number is NOI2101. 17. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation notice of intent for a commercial item prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are not being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number for this acquisition is NOI 2101. The solicitation documents and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal acquisition Circular 01-09. This acquisition will be processed under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) and is not a Small Business Set-Aside. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 339111 and the small business size is 500. The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases intends to procure the Opticon II continuous fluorescence detector with MJ Research, cat. #CFD-3220, qty. 1 and included with the detector are the following accessories: computer ? Windows NT operating system, cat. #CFO-3220, qty. 1; Opticon 15? flat panel monitor, cat. #OCM-3201, qty. 1; Hard-Shell microplates, white shell, white walls, 50/pk, qty. 1; 0.2ml Optical, flat strip caps, ultra-clear, 8 per strip, 120 strips, cat. #TCS-0803, qty. 1. The vendor will provide technical training and support. Installation, shipping and handling are included. This Opticon II detector from MJ Research has some unique features that other ones don?t have such as: (1) The system has a peltier thermal cycler and includes a multi-sensor/multi-zone temperature control technology, thermal accuracy of +0.3C, and well-to-well uniformity of +0.4C. (2) It accommodates 96 samples either in plate or strip tube format. (3) The software allows the option of programming a thermal gradient of up to 24C across the 96-well sample block. (4) The instrument is compatible with popular dye chemistries, including SYBR Green dye, TaqMan probes and molecular beacons. (5) The software provides flexible well assignments in programming and provides a listing and graphical display representation of protocol steps for review and editing. (6) It has dual wavelength analysis, and it has a small footprint, it?s the only unit that fits both requirements. Delivery location is the National Institutes of Health, National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Bethesda, Md. 20892 and shall be inside delivery. This is a fixed-price contract and the FOB terms are ?Destination?. Offers must be submitted no later than 4:30 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) 09/26/02.
