- Jacobs Sverdrup Technology, Inc. (Jacobs Sverdrup) intends to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for engineering support in accordance with the following requirements: BS degree in Electrical engineering or Physics with a minimum of eight years experience in Electromagnetic Compatibility/Electromagnetic Interference (EMC/EMI) analysis, test planning and procedures, evaluation of test results, critical circuit test and analysis as related to space or flight hardware and systems is required. Candidates with a BS degree in another technical discipline and equivalent experience will also be considered. Familiarity with evaluation of systems for EMC compliance, EMC/EMI waivers, electrostatic discharge, corona, grounding, and isolation is a plus. Proficiency with a personal computer and familiarity with appropriate software programs used in EMC/EMI analysis is required. Experience with MIL-STD-461 and -462 are a plus. Successful candidate will independently plan, schedule and perform EMC/EMI analyses for aerospace systems (including Space Launch Initiative, Gravity Probe B, and other NASA programs); evaluate systems for EMC compliance; write EMC control plans and test plans; prepare and make presentations; and document results in technical reports. Candidate will thoroughly review results from assigned tasks to determine if outputs are complete, correct, integrated with project objectives, and adequately documented. Will follow existing processes and procedures and recommend process improvements where appropriate. The candidate will coordinate with project teammates to assure that EMC/EMI analyses and designs are integrated and appropriate for the situation. All work shall be performed on-site at MSFC unless otherwise noted. Jacobs Sverdrup intends to purchase these services from an organization such as an independent subcontractor or contract labor agency. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications (i.e., company background, individual resumes, etc.) to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than October 13, 2002. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by Jacobs Sverdrup not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, or to not proceed with any award, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of Jacobs Sverdrup.
