Description

The Air Force Metrology Calibration Detachment is considering the upgrade purchase to fifteen (15) Length Measuring Machines, Mahr Federal part number 828-631022. This upgrade will consist of mapping the machine for improved accuracy and PC/software enhancement for automatic data collection and storage. This upgrade will ultimately support internal and external measurements to include the calibration of Class X plug and ring gages, thread gages, dial indicators, micrometers, and hook gages. Upgrades required are for fifteen (15) units and consist of the following: Pentium 3 Grade 400 MHz or better with 15 inch monitor; laser mapping of scale to improve uncertainty to be no higher than 15 microinches; parallelism of anvils no higher than 5 microinches; Windows NT based software and training.
