- Gabion Retaining Wall and Utilities Upgrade - Pinnacles National Monument, San Benito County, CA. Solicitation number N845002A024. The National Park Service requires a firm, fixed-price construction contract to furnish all labor, materials, equipment and expertise necessary to perform all operations required for the successful completion of the above named project. Work includes, but is not limited to: Construction of a large gabion retaining wall approximately 107 lineal feet long, 10-11 feet high and 6-9 feet wide; a smaller gabion, approximately 48 lineal feet long, 2 feet high and 2 feet wide; 84 lineal feet of 6 inch diameter ductile iron sewer main, 3 sewer manholes; repair of 200 square feet of stacked rock wall repair; placement of 40 large boulders in creek; demolotion of existing gabions an d stacked rock wall rubble; and 550 square yards of access road repair and asphalt patching. The NAICS code for this project is 234990 and the small business size standard is $28.5 million. Contract duration is 45 Days following notice to proceed. This is an environmentally sensitive area due to native species habitat and water level in creek due to seasonal moisture. Contractor to start by November 1, 2002 and complete by December 15, 2002, subject to seasonal moisture. Otherwise construction may be delayed until July 2003. In accordance with FAR Subpart 36.204, the price range for this contract is between $25,000 and $100,000. This is a "Best Value" procurement and price is equal in importance to the offeror's capability. This procurement is unrestricted inviting full and open competition. The National Park Service welcomes and encourages the participation of small, disadvantaged, and women owned business enterprises. A site visit will be scheduled for all interested parties with the time and date to be announced in the solicitation when posted on electronic commerce on or about September 24, 2002 at www.fedbizopps.gov. (See FEDBIZOPPS search, below) Responses will be due approximately 30 days following. Search by referencing the solicitation number (above), Department of the Interior, National Park Service. Individual requests for solicitation packages will NOT be accepted.
