Description
ISSUE DATE: 9/23/02. Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, transportation, supervision, and disposal necessary and incidental related work Lead Paint/Asbestos Tile Removal at Conimicut Light USCG Station ANT Bristol, RI. The work includes the removal of lead based paint coatings on interior walls and ceilings inside Conimicut Lighthouse. Existing coatings have tested positive for the presence of lead. Complete abatement of all lead based paint is NOT required. Floor tiles have tested positive for the presence of asbestos. Demolition existing wood stairs leading into basement level. Construct new wood stairs of pressure treated wood and incidental related work. The period of performance is 60 calendar days after Notice to Proceed. Estimated cost of this project is between $25,000 and $100,000 dollars. NAICS code is 562910. Solicitation packages will be available on or about 9/23/02. Proposals are due on or about: 10/21/2002. This project is issued pursuant to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program, and is unrestricted. THE FOLLOWING NOTICE IS PROVIDED AS INFORMATION FOR MINORITY, WOMEN-OWNED, AND DISADVANTAGED BUSINESS ENTERPRISES: The Dept of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, payment and performance bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are available under the DOT Short-term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The max. Line of credit is $500,000.
