Description

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation No. FHQ02Q50780 is being issued as a Request for Quote. This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2001-08, dated July 29, 2002. The Standard Industrial Classification code is 421830. Offerors that intend to submit a proposal as a small business must have a no more than 100 people employed by the offeror. The Department of the Treasury, 401 14th Street, SW, Washington, DC, 20227, intends to award a purchase order for the purchase of Oval Strapping Unit, Model Number 415 Bottom Seal Strapping Machine with Postal Arch, Arch Size 24" W x 18" H, Quantity of 2; Oval Strapping Unit, Model Number 415 Spare Parts Kit Number 415SPK-1, Quantity of 2; Nestaflex Conveyor, Gravity Roller Skate Wheel Table, Model 17524032, Includes Height Adjustment, Quantity of 2; Coil of 6 mm strapping material, 12,000 Ft. per coil, 250 lb. Break Strength, Quantity of 20; and Maintenance for the Oval Strapping Unit, Quantity of 30 hours upon installation, testing, and acceptance., utilizing simplified acquisition procedures and provisions and clauses for Commercial Items. Delivery shall be within 30 days of receipt of order and shall be shipped at the offerors expense to the FMS Austin, Texas regional office. Government will not reimburse the Offeror for travel as related to the fulfillment of this requirement. FAR 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors-Commercial applies to this acquisition is hereby incorporated by reference. The government will award a commercial item purchase order using simplified acquisition procedures to the responsible offeror whose offer is most advantageous to the government. The offers will be evaluated on the basis of whether they met the requirement and price. FAR 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications-Commercial Items must be completed and returned with offer. The clauses may be viewed at http://www.arnet.gov/far. FAR 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions-Commercial Items - February 2002 and FAR 52.212-5, Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Orders-Commercial Items - May 2002 apply to this solicitation. Offers must be received no later than 2:00 p.m. eastern standard time, August 4, 2002. Responses must be in writing and must be received by the due date and time.
