Description
The Naval Air Systems Command is issuing this sources sought synopsis for a follow-on requirement for maintenance and repair of the Navy?s T56 Series III engines. The three major modules of the engine to be maintained and repaired under this contract will be power sections, gearboxes and torque meters. These services are currently being obtained under Contract N00019-98-D-0175 with Rolls Royce Engine Services Oakland (RRESO). Naval Air Systems Command anticipates an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity contract of a base year with four (4) option years, with a minimum of 25 power sections, 6 gearboxes, and 6 torque meters to be serviced annually; maximum numbers are 200 power sections, 175 gearboxes, and 110 torque meters annually. The turn-around time for overhaul and maintenance is 66 calendar days for power sections, 49 days for gearboxes, and 36 days for torque meters. Additionally, each fiscal year will contain over-and-above contract line items to cover efforts outside the scope of the basic depot maintenance requirements. The contractor shall provide the facilities and services necessary to perform the requirements of this contract with exception of the special tooling and equipment provided as Government Furnished Equipment (GFE). The Government reserves the right to make multiple awards if it is determined to be most advantageous based on the capabilities and overall evaluation of the proposals received. This is not an invitation for bids and the information presented in this announcement will not obligate the Government in any manner. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this requirement is 336412, with a size standard of 1,000 employees. All interested parties, including small businesses, are encouraged to respond to this synopsis electronically to Ms. Alyse Bullock, bullockac@navair.navy.mil and Ms. Laura Sells, sellslj@navair.navy.mil. The response shall include one page providing the following information: Business name and address, cage code, size classification based on NAICS size standard, socioeconomic classification (i.e. woman-owned, HUB zone representation, etc.), and a point of contact. In addition, interested parties are encouraged to submit an additional one-page attachment outlining the company?s capabilities and past performance. The total submission shall not exceed two pages. Information provided by Small Businesses who respond with interest in subcontracting opportunities will be forwarded to prime contractors during the request for proposal process. See Note 25.*****
