Description
POC: Mr. Ed Dashman, 618-229-6810/6713, Computer Systems Specialist DESC: This announcement constitutes a Request for Information (RFI) synopsis. Information obtained as a result of this synopsis is for planning purposes only. It does not constitute an invitation for bid (IFB) or request for proposal (RFP), nor is it to be construed as a commitment by the United States Air Force (USAF). No contract may arise by responding to this RFI. Also, a response to this RFI does not require the Air Force to further respond. The Air Force will not provide you its views or opinions about your products or services. No proprietary information should be provided under this RFI, since once provided, it may be used by the government in the normal course of its business, including disclosure to the public. The Air Force is interested in information on commercially available tools and services for determining the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) of information technology services. These tools should be capable of tracking the costs of hardware and software purchases, operations and maintenance, training, personnel, and related overhead expenses associated with the base activity using the communications infrastructure, systems, applications, services, etc. Services should include data collection, training, data analysis, and assistance with course of action development. Documentation in response to this RFI should include concepts of operations, performance specifications, and pricing information related to tracking these services. Our intent is to use this information to identify and compare TCO alternatives available within the commercial world, determine best business practices, and identify potential opportunities for outsourcing and/or cost reduction. Information should be provided NLT 6 September 2002. Vendors may express interest, make comments and ask questions via electronic mail or fax comments or questions to the Air Force Communications Agency, Analysis Branch, at AFCA-ITXP@Scott.af.mil, FAX 618-256-3342. All comments and questions must be in writing and must identify the company source, contact person, and telephone number and Fax number.
