Description

THIS IS NOT SET-ASIDE FOR SMALL BUSINESS. Coeur dAlene River Ranger District, Kootenai County , Idaho. This is a Stewardship Pilot project authorized by Section 347 or the FY 1999 Omnibus Appropriations Act and extensions to initiate Demonstration Land Stewardship Contracts for end result land management contracts. The project area includes approximately 21,600 acres of the headwaters of the Little North Fork Coeur dAlene River located in the Coeur dAlene River Basin. Primary objectives of the project is to; a) Improve water quality and riparian habitat, b) Improve forest health and vigor, c) Increase age-class diversity and d) Reduce risk of wildfires. It will also include several different resource enhancement components: stream restoration; road maintenance, construction, reconditioning, reconstruction, culvert upgrades and obliteration; hazardous fuels reduction; timber removal; tree planting; pile landings; noxious weed treatment; and other resource treatment activities. Timber removal is specified on approximately 850 acres including an estimated volume of 21,000 CCF. The contract term will be 7 years from date of award. Construction work, including Stream Channel Restoration, Road Reconstruction, Construction and Obliteration, estimated price range between $500,000 and $1,000,000.
