Description
The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Lakehurst (NAWCADLKE) intends to procure the MHU-151/M Small Munitions Trailer, which is used to transport munitions from a storage site to aircraft flight lines in support of the U.S. Marine Corps. The required basic quantity is for one (1) each pre-production munitions trailer and associated technical data. There will be three (3) option periods of thirty (30) units each, for a total of ninety (90) each production units. In addition, included with the option periods are technical data requirements. The pre-production unit shall be ready for contract testing within 180 days after contract award. Government approval/disapproval of the pre-production unit will be provided within 30 days of completion of testing. The first shipment of production units shall begin 90 days after release for production (provided option for production units has been exercised) and will be delivered at the rate of approximately five (5) units per month. Trailer characteristics include: capacity 3,000 lbs, weight 1,000 lbs, length 91 inches, width 61 inches, deck height 21 inches, and ten ply FOD free 7.50 x 10 tires. The trailer is a four wheel, towable, flat bed unit constructed of lightweight aluminum and removable wood side and end racks. The trailer is equipped with tie down bars, removable wood side and end racks, multi-leaf springs, surge brake service brakes, parking brakes, a 24 VDC electrical system, a steel tow bar with lunette and a pintle hook on the rear. The chassis of the trailer is made up of a non-skid bed and two transverse "Dog Trackers." All items shall be manufactured in accordance with detailed drawing and statement of work. The offer providing the best value in price, technical description and past performance will be selected for contract award. The contractor shall maintain a quality system that, as a minimum, adheres to the requirements of ANSI/ASQC-9002. Inspection and acceptance shall be at origin. Packing and packaging shall be in accordance with best commercial practice. The Government is anticipating a Firm Fixed Price type contract. This is a 100% set-aside for small business. The solicitation will be posted on the NAVAIR homepage located at http://www.navair.navy.mil. Select "Business", then "Doing Business With Us" and "Open Solicitations." Look for amendments on the web page. Hard copy of solicitations and amendments will NOT be mailed to contractors. The complete drawing package will be available after solicitation is posted on the web, on or about September 12, 2002, upon your written request. The Government will NOT accept electronic offers.
