- NA The Army requires a firm fixed price contract to Replace Playground Equipment in four (4) locations at Fort Stewart, Georgia. This project shall involve demolition of existing playground equipment, providing new playground equipment and installation of ne w playground equipment. SIC code is 3949. NAICS code is 339920 and the size standard is 500 employees. Project is UNRESTRICTED. All responsible businesses may submit a quotation that will be considered. Equipment must be Game Time or equal. Product l iterature shall be required with all proposals submitted. Paper copies of this project will not be available. Primary connecting hardware shall be of 304 stainless steel with button pin-in-head, torque-socket cap screws with a two-part epoxy locking patch added to the threads to reduce loosening resulting from vibration and use. Metal assemblies shall be MIG (metal inert gas) welded for maximum penetration and good structural integrity. Paint coatings shall be tested for hardness, adhesion and impact resistance in accordance with ASTM standards. Rotationally-molded plastic products shall be produced of liner low-density polyethylene with UV-stabilized color and ant-static compound additives. All platforms and walkways shall be manufactured from 11 gauge-punched steel and then covered with a slip resistant PVC coating. All platforms shall hold a minimum of three to four thousand pounds of weight. All platforms shall be direct-bolted into the uprights for extremely strong connection. No Clamps connection can be used. Products must meet or exceed all current guidelines and standards outlined by AS TM and CPSC. In addition all equipment must be third party tested and certified compliant to ASTM through the IPEMA testing process. All layouts must be designed to meet current ADA requirements. Direct bolt fastening system or equal. Warranty: Product shall offer the best and most comprehensive warranty available in the industry. Lifetime warranty on uprights, hardware, and direct bolts a minimum of 15-year warranty on all decks, pipes, rungs, rails, and loops. A minimum of 10-year warranty on all plastic components. Product Liability: Product shall have a minimum of 25 million in product liability insurance. Installation of Playground Equipment: The work required consists of demolition of playground equipment from one area and installation of new playground equipment. Equipment shall be installed by direct bolt fastening system or equal. Equipment shall be installed by manufacturer certified ins tallers only. Some site work (leveling, excavation, etc.) will be required as well as concrete work. NOTE: Funds are not presently available for this project. No contract award shall be made until funds are made available. The Request for Quotations for this project is scheduled to issue and be posted on August 27, 2002. A site visit has been scheduled for September 4, 2002 at 9:00 a.m. Interested parties shall meet at the DPW/DOC Cell, Building 1139, Fort Stewart, Georgia .
