- Description
- NOTE: TO OBTAIN THE SOURCE CONTROL DRAWING (SCD), CONTACT MARK READY, E-MAIL: charles.ready@tinker.af.mil. Provide your mailing address and the Air Force will mail a CD-ROM to you containing the SCD. This is a Market Survey, seeking potential sources for the C/KC-135 Actuator, P/N 520-12477-4 and P/N 520-12477-5. Purpose: Request to identify potential sources to design and manufacture actuators in accordance with the attached Boeing Source Control Drawing No. 520-12477 (P/N 520-12477-4 and 520-12477-5). This is a request for information only and is not a solicitation. The Boeing Source Control Drawing covers the design, fabrication, and testing requirements for internally mounted, 28.0 Volt Direct Current (DC), electric motor operated valve actuator assemblies. The P/N 520-12477-4 actuator will replace the ITT General Controls Inc. P/N 106538A used on the 2.0 inch motor operated gate valve assembly (valve body and actuator) defined by ITT P/N AV16B1632A1 (Boeing drawing 10-30326-2). This valve is used on the C/KC-135 aircraft, quantity of six (6) per aircraft, identified as the submerged shutoff valves 2, 3, 5, 6, 8 and 9. This actuator has wire pigtails as power interface to the aircraft. The P/N 520-12477-5 actuator will replace the Whittaker Controls Inc. P/N 153127 used on the 2.0 inch motor operated gate valve assembly (valve body and actuator) defined by Whittaker P/N 135675 (Boeing drawing 10-30326-2). This valve assembly is interchangeable with the P/N AV16B1632A1 assembly and is used on the C/KC135 aircraft, six (6) per aircraft, identified as the submerged shutoff valves 2, 3, 5, 6, 8 and 9. This actuator has wire pigtails as power interface to the aircraft. Valve assemblies with the actuator defined by Boeing specification 520-12477 are intended for unsubmerged, partially or totally submerged operation in aircraft fuel tanks. Request the following information be provided to OC-ALC/LADCA not later than 30 September 2002 for consideration in this market survey: 1) Statement of manufacturer?s capability to design and manufacture proposed design actuators. 2) Estimated manufacturer's cost per unit of proposed design based on the following production requirements: NOTE: Production requirements are tentatively planned to start FY06 with an anticipated requirement of 720 installations per year for five consecutive years. a) Approximately 3,600 P/N 520-12477-5 actuators. - or - b) Approximately 1,100 P/N 520-12477-4 and 2,500 P/N 520-12477-5 actuators. 3) Estimated cost of an Overhaul Manual including Illustrated Parts Breakdown for proposed design to include: a) P/N 520-12477-5 actuators only. b) P/N 520-12477-4 and 520-12477-5 actuators. 4) Estimated delivery schedule to include: a) Time to complete qualification requirements. b) Production lead-time for prototype unit, kitproof unit, and production units based on the production requirements in 2.a. and 2.b. above. c) Minimum and maximum monthly production quantities based on the production requirements in 2.a. and 2.b. above.
