- SCOPE OF WORK: The purpose of this contract is for the Contractor to provide dialyzers for use in the Government-owned Fresenius 2008K-System Dialysis Machines located in the Dialysis Unit at the Department of Veterans Affairs, VA Connecticut Healthcare System (VA), West Haven Campus, 950 Campbell Avenue, West Haven, CT 06516. Dialyzers: a. The Dialyzers shall be made of a synthetic membrane such as polymethacrylate or polysulfone and shall be of hollow fiber construction. Gamma irradiation is preferred over ethylene oxide as the mode of sterilization. b. Three types of dialyzers are needed. The first type, (B3-16A) at a blood flow of 400 cc/min, shall provide urea and B12 clearances of at least 279 and 7 cc/min respectively. c. The second type of Dialyzer (BK-1.6U) at a blood flow rate of 400 cc/min, shall provide urea and B12 clearances of at least 275 and 125cc/min respectively. d. The third type of Dialyzer (BK-2.1U) at a blood flow rate of 400cc/min, shall provide urea and B12 clearances of at least 300 and 150 cc/min respectively and shall have a UF coefficient greater than 10. e. All dialyzers shall be disposable after each treatment and shall be compatible with the Government-owned Fresenius 2008K System Dialysis Machines.
