Description
The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administrations, Center for Substance Abuse Treatment through Program Support Center plans to award a sole source simplified acquisition to American Indian Training Institute, 4221 North Gate Boulevard, Suite 2, Sacramento, CA 95834. The period of performance is twelve months from date of award. In 1992, an estimated 10 million Americans were reported to be heavy drinkers and more than 11 million were estimated to be regular users of illicit (marijuana, cocaine, heroin, etc.) Drugs. There were also an estimated 54 million children, adolescents, and adults who used tobacco products such as cigarettes, cigars, pipes, and smokeless tobacco. Substance use leading to serious behavioral and/or health problems continues to be commonplace in all communities, and the prevalence of illicit drug use today is higher in the United States than in any other industrialized society. The purpose of this requirement is to provide technical assistance in the form of logistical support to conduct five and half days certified a training and technical assistance conference in Mesa, Arizona and a two and half day grant writing workshop in Nashville, Tennessee. This technical assistance and training support will enable participants to meet some of the certification requirements and standards necessary to provide quality treatment to their tribal communities. It will also support workshops to further enhance participants? federal grant applications/proposal writing skills. The proposed simplified acquisition is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest by responding to the requirement within 10 days after the date of publication of this notice. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed simplified acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. No Solicitation is available.
