Description
The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute intend to negotiate on a non-competitive basis with Affymetrix, Inc. 3380 Central Expressway, Santa Clara, California, 95051, to purchase; One (1) each, Gene Chip Node Promotion System, 110V with includes: Fluidics Station FS400, Hybridization Oven, Type I Workstation with installed Microarray Suite and one copy of the Micro DB and DMT, catalog number 00-0043; and Ninety (90) Each, Catalog Number 510000, Customized Arrays, which includes a Custom Resequencing Array Design Fee Charge, Catalog Number 000336. Affymetix, Inc., is the manufacturer and sole supplier of these items. The NHLBI, Laboratory of Developmental Biology uses the Affymetrix, Inc?s, equipment as tools in support of NHLBI?s research. A change in the manufacturer would effect ongoing laboratory research and threaten the investment already made. This requirement is under the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) number 334516, size standard 500 employees. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this requirement. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct future competitive procurement. Responses to the announcement, referencing synopsis number, NHLBI -PS-2002-100, may be submitted in writing to the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, Contracts Operations Branch, Procurement Section, 6701 Rockledge Drive, Suite 6042, Bethesda, Maryland, 20879-7902, Attention: Cecilia Morales. Fax responses will only be accepted if dated and signed by an authorized company representative. All responsible sources may submit a proposal, which if timely received, shall be considered by the agency.
