Description
The USDA, Agricultural Research Service (ARS), intends to negotiate solely with Rheometric Scientific in Piscataway, New Jersey, to furnish, deliver and install Rheometric Scientific upgrades of existing Rheometrics ARES Fluids Rheometer at the USDA, ARS, MWA, National Center for Agricultural Utilization Research (NCAUR), 1815 N. University St., Peoria, IL 61604. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS: 1) ARES-OAM-ll - Optical Analysis Module Mkll Power requirements 110-240V, 50/60 Hz. The OAM-ll is designed to allow simultaneous acquisition of optical and mechanical data during transient tests. The optical measurements include birefringence, dichroism and transmitted light intensity. The OAM can operate in local or remote mode. In the remote mode, the rheometer triggers the data acquisition. The time constant for data sampling is 50 millisecond/point. The instrument is designed to be operated using a 486 level personal computer that supports the Windows Operating System. The instrument consists of the following elements - The support frame with solid state laser (wavelength 670 nm), Polarizer and Polarization modulator; rotating half-wave plate; The detection module with Circular polarizer and Detector;and Electronic package with detector amplifier, modulator controller, data sampling/evaluation electronics including log-in amplifier; Windows based operation software. 2) ARES-OAM-38.1PP - Glass 38.1mm Parallel Plates for use with the Optical Analyzer Module - 38.1 mm upper glass plate - 38.1mm lower glass plate. 3) ARES-AMB-OAM-COU- A special couette made for use with ARES-OAMll option at room temperature. (Ambient use only.) Requires OAM-ll Option and ARES instrument with Firmware V5.xx.xx or higher and 2KFRTN1 Transducer. Not for use with 100FRT, 100FRTN1, 200FRT or 200FRTN1 transducers. Includes: One upper stainless steel Bob (401-01059) (Bob Dimensions: Length - 20.2mm, OD = 30mm) One lower cup (401-01057) with stainless steel rim and glass bottom (cup dimension: ID = 34MM). DELIVERY- The contractor shall furnish and deliver the equipment and documentation within 6 to 8 weeks after receipt of the order to the USDA, ARS, MWA, NCAUR, 1815 N. University St., Peoria, IL 61604. Companies with the demonstrated capability and financial capacity to provide and service such equipment and warranty must submit a written substantive statement outlining the company's and systems' capabilities, available service agreements, and consumables (including price lists) to the Contracting Officer by noon, within 5 days of publication of this notice. This is not a request for Proposal. No solicitation is available.
