- Description
- The Air Armament Center (AAC), Eglin AFB, FL intends to solicit and award a Firm-Fixed Price contract. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; a quotation is being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The reference number is F33DOL21830100 issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ). The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 334517, with a small business standard size of 500 employees. Please identify your business size in your response based upon this standard. The requirement is for CLIN 0001, one (1) Each High energy Pulsed X-Ray system of 1-MeV (Mega electron volts) for diagnostics of explosive and dynamic impact events. A dual (2) channel system is needed with the capability to produce a minimum dose of 55mR at 1-meter from the protected x-ray tube, and 5-mR at 1-meter after going through 40mm of steel. The effective electron source size shall not be larger than 6mm in diameter and emission period of each channel lasting no more than 30nanoseconds. The tubes shall be enclosed within individual steel tubehead enclosures for remote positioning near intense shock and fragments during operational use. Remote head capability is essential. The system must include necessary control equipment to operate the remote heads with regard to personnel safety and be capable of external triggering off of an approximately 50V signal from related equipment. Synchronization between the two-pulsed channels must have no greater than 0.20 microsecond error in accuracy. The diameter of the pulsers shall not be larger than 600mm in diameter or longer than 1500mm, with a maximum weight of 650lbs. These items are to be delivered FOB Destination to Eglin AFB, Florida.
