- Description
- The US Geological Survey (USGS) requires Kinemetrics K2 4-channel accelerographs with "Caltech" realtime option, GPS with antenna and min. 75' coax, internal PCMCIA modem, min 10MB PCMCIA memory, internal 100Hz 2g FBA (no external FBA). Minimum qty 12 ea, maximum qty 25 ea. Delivery 30 days from date of award to Fresno, CA. The Government intends to award on a sole source basis to Kinemetrics, Inc., Pasadena, CA, the only responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Instruments support an ongoing joint effort by the USGS, California Institute of Technology, and California Geological Survey to upgrade the National Strong Motion Program (NSMP) Seismic Network from analog to digital instrumentation using Kinemetrics Altus series real-time strong-motion recorders. Only Kinemetrics Model K2 meets all technical requirements of the NSMP and is fully compatible with already-installed Kinemetrics instruments and with software developed by Caltech and Kinemetrics.
