- Description
- This sources sought announcement is issued for the purpose of identifying sources for Downsized Multi-channel Satellite (DMCS) systems and spare parts for these systems. The DMCS is a Commercial-Off-the-Shelf (COTS) highly transportable tri-band (C-, X-, and Ku-Band) satellite communications terminal. The DMCS is a 2.4m Tri-band Satellite System designed for ease of deployment, both set-up and teardown, and operation. One of the key parameters is that the DMCS terminal, when packaged for shipping, must weigh 1200 lbs. or less and occupy 115 cubic feet or less. Weight and volume limits include shipping containers. The terminal is DSCS certified for military X-band satellite operation, including automatic satellite tracking, and INTELSAT qualified for commercial C- and Ku-Band satellite operations. New systems must be identical to existing DMCS systems. Commonality of systems is required by the end user to reduce logistics/training costs and give the flexibility to interchange equipment and personnel as needed to meet mission requirements with limited airlift availability. Sources having equipment that meets or exceeds the above capabilities are invited to submit appropriate documentation, literature and brochures. The government requests information regarding specifications and pricing for commercial off the shelf (COTS) equipment. Responses shall be submitted to Gilbert Quick, Code 32T-GQ, at (843) 218-4225. All information should be faxed to (843)218-4360 Attn: Code 32T-GQ or email: quickg@spawar.navy.mil to arrive NLT 19JUL02. This announcement is only an expression of interest for planning purposes only. Future requirements and procurements are uncertain. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this announcement. This is not a solicitation announcement for proposals and no contract will be awarded from this announcement. No reimbursement will be made for any cost associated with providing information in response to this announcement.
