Description
NA The project work consists of removing shoals along the Entrance Channel Cut-1N and Ranges A, A-1, and A-2. The Contract will consist of Base and Option Bid Items. The Base Bid consists of dredging the following areas to a required depth of 49 feet plus 2 feet allowable overdepth: (1) dredge approximately 200,000 cubic yards (cy) of material from Cut-1N Station 100+00 to Station 220+00 and the north settling basin Station 119+00 to Station 123+00 with placement at the designated beach disposal area, D/A-B North, located approximately 4 miles from the project site; (2) dredge approximately 20,000 cy of material from Cut-1N Station 220+00 to Station 230+00 (Range 1000 to 1250) with placement in the designated nearshore disposal area, D/A-N, located approxima tely 7 miles from the project site; and (3) dredge approximately 725,000 cy of material from Cut-1N Station 220+00 to Station 230+00 (Range 750 to 1000) and Station 230+00 to Station 340+00 with placement in the designated ocean disposal area, D/A-O, locat ed approximately 12.5 miles from the project site. The first Option Bid Item is to dredge up to approximately 267,000 cy of material from the north settling basin Station 177+50 to Station 227+50 (Range 1250 to Range 1350) with placement at the designated beach disposal area, D/A-B North. This Option will be subdivided into five different required depths (41, 43, 45, 47, and 49 feet) plus 2 feet allowable overdepth, only one required depth will be awarded. The second Option Bid Item is to dredge approxim ately 42,000 cy from Range A, A-1, and A-2 to a required depth of 45 feet plus 2 feet allowable overdepth with placement at the designated beach disposal area, D/A-B North. Only hopper dredges will be allowed to work on this contract. Work also includes sea turtle trawling and relocation, turbidity monitoring and endangered species monitoring. Magnitude of construction is between $10,000,000.00 and $25,000,000.00. The solicitation will be issued on or about 26 July 2002 with bids due on or about 10 Sept ember 2002. Solicitation will be issued in electronic format only. Offerors will be provided a CD ROM at no cost. Interested offerors must register electronically.
