- The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) plans to issue a purchase order for services on a sole basis to Madhu Nair, Honeoye Fall, NY, under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b). The objective of this requirement is to provide the following tasks: Task I) develop manufacturing integration scenarios and test against the interface design for the NIST Integration Repository; provide a performance report and recommendations for improving interface design; and include on the report industry integration scenarios, example queries for the repository, and a documented literature search for integration scenarios. Task II) develop integration requirements model for OEM supplier portals; collect, evaluate, and model information requirements for a minimum of four (4) OEM manufacturing supplier business portals related to piece part manufacturing; identify original equipment manufacturers (OEM) portals and model the information requirements for suppliers to these manufacturers; create integration requirements for small businesses based on the OEM information requirements; and develop a report that provides a detailed description of OEM information requirements, how these requirements were established, and integration requirements for small manufacturers. Mr. Nair is the only source for this service as he has expertise in the problems related to enterprise systems and supply chain integration. He has many years of experience with academic and business communities involved in the research and implementation of solutions to these problems. Mr. Nair has also led several R&D projects investigating integration problems, their impacts on industry, and potential solution approaches. The contractor has worked with NIST researchers involved in the EI program and he is familiar with the goals of that program and its ongoing projects. The period of performance for the contract is six (6) months. This notice is not a request for competitive quotations. Interested persons may identify their intent and capability to respond to the requirement no later than the response date above. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
