- This project will consist of slide repair, grading, drainage, road reconstruction, hot asphalt pavement overlay and striping, on 22.7 kilometers (largest schedule) of roadway, in Theodore Roosevelt National Park, McKenzie County, State of North Dakota. Estimated price range is between $150,000.00 and $300,000.00. Principal work items: Lump sum construction survey and staking; lump sum contractor testing; 550 m3 roadway excavation; 140 m3 select granular backfill; 150 metric tons roadway aggregate, method 2; 1,600 metric tons minor hot asphalt concrete; 10 metric tons tack coat grade CSS-1, CSS-1h, SS-1, or SS-1h; 100 m2 geocomposite sheet drain system; 80 m asphalt concrete curb, 150 mm depth; 3,670 L pavement markings type A; 16 m2 construction sign; 90 m temporary concrete barrier along with associated clearing and grubbing, seeding and traffic control. The Department of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontractor at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
