Description

This is a notice of intent to award on a sole-source basis for the commercial items in accordance with FAR Part 12 procedures, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only notice; a written solicitation will not be issued. The U.S. Immigration & Naturalization Service (INS) intends to contract with Nassau County Parks & Recreation Municipal Rifle & Pistol Range, Eisenhower Park, East Meadow, NY 11554, for the use of shooting range and classroom space for the period of 10/01/2002 through 09/30/2003. The contractor shall provide range time for 26 weeks, 5 days per week, 4 hours per day, and classroom space for 20 weeks, 4 days per week, 8 hours per day, dates and times to be determined by the Immigration & Naturalization Service, 26 Federal Plaza, New York, NY 10278. The contractor will be required to accommodate the variable schdeuling of the INS officers and must be located within close proximity to the JFK Airport to enable INS officers to complete their quarterly firearms qualifications requirements and return to their duty location immediately, rather than traveling a long distance. The contractor will be required to meet established health and safety standards. This contract is for services which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate only with Nassau County Parks & Recreation Municipal Rifle & Pistol Range under the authority 41 U.S.S. 253 (c) (1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1 unless additional sources are located. This notice is being solicited on a sole-source basis.
