Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate with Varian Medical Systems, 3100 Hansen Way, Palo Alto, California 94304-1129 on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR Part 13.106-1(b), Soliciting from a single source for the refurbishment, delivery, installation and testing of a used Varian Clinic 2100C Medical Accelerator. Services are to include: rig-out, relocation, transportation, re-cabling, base frame installation, rig-in supervision, restoration to pre-removal condition, and testing. Varian Medical Systems is the original equipment manufacturer and is, therefore, uniquely qualified to provide the services previously stated to the Varian Clinic 2100C Medical Accelerator. Varian Medical Systems manufactures and services about 80% of the clinical accelerators used in North America, and a significant fraction of those used worldwide. The Government anticipates awarding a firm-fixed price purchase order. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit quotes by July 17, 2002. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. A Request for Quotation (RFQ) package is not available. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer.
