Description
NA Improvements to Disposal Areas 4 and 10 to prepare each site for disposal of maintenance dredging material from Wilmington Harbor. The Disposal Areas are islands located between Wilmington and Southport in Brunswick County, North Carolina and are adjacent to the Wilmington Harbor Navigation Channel. Improvements to Disposal Area 4 will consist of installing a new 4’ x 8’ spillway riser and 30” diameter HDPE effluent pipe, raising approximately 350 linear feet of the existing dike (approximately 6,000 cubi c yards fill required), installing temporary silt fence and some seeding and mulching. Improvements to Disposal Area 10 will involve removing an existing spillway riser and effluent pipe, adding a new 4’ x 8’ spillway riser and 30” diameter HDPE effluent pipe, placement of geotextile reinforcement and raising the existing dike (approximately 6,300 linear feet and 67,000 cubic yards of fill required), installing temporary silt fence, and seeding and mulching. The magnitude of this project is between $500,00 0 to $1,000,000. 2. AVAILABILITY AND CHARGE: THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS WILL BE ISSUED ON/OR-ABOUT July 26, 2002, ON A CD-ROM DISK, WILL BE FREE OF CHARGE, AND SHOULD NOT BE RETURNED. Plans and Specifications will not be provided in a printed-paper h ard copy form. Amendments will be made through either a 3.5 Diskette, CD-ROM Disk, or by a printed-paper hard copy. The CD-ROM Disk contains a simple window viewing application and two (2) commercial software applications. All applications contained on the CD-ROM Disk can be run from the CD-ROM Disk. No installation is required. The recommended minimum hardware requirements are (1) 486/66 personal computer; (2) 8 or 16 M RAM; (3) CD-ROM drive; and (4) a Windows driven printer. The recommended minimum software requirement is Microsoft Windows 3.1, Windows 95, or Windows NT. Standard Form 1442, Proposal Documents, Bid Bonds, and other normal documents required for proposal submittal shall be in a paper medium. Electronic medium for proposal submittal I S NOT ALLOWED.
